SHIPPING GUIDELINES FOR U.S. CUSTOMERS AFTER RECIPROCAL TARIFFS AND REMOVAL OF DE MINIMIS EXEMPTION

Update: 29 December 2025 - NOTICE FOR SHIPMENTS TO US: AS OF 2026, FEDEX SHIPMENTS TO THE US INCUR A HIGHER DISBURSEMENT FEE

Update: 12 March 2026 - While to IEEPA ruling has been struck down by the supreme court, the US Government is currently still imposing a global 10% tariff fee on imports, with a possible increase to 15% at an undetermined start date, under the Section 122 regulations.

Dear U.S. customers,

As you may have already heard, due to the recent customs announcements, items entering the US on and after 29 August 2025 may be subject to customs duties.

In recent months, the U.S customs and border protection agency has confirmed that informational items such as CDs, DVDs, BLU-RAYs, VINYLs, Photobooks and other printed materials (e.g. photos and photocards) are exempted from tariffs. Tariffs may however, apply for other types of merchandise. The exact applied rate depends on the specific product and HS code, as well as the country of manufacture. As a broad guideline, products manufactured in Europe, South Korea and Japan, where a majority of our products originate from, have an estimated tax of 15% if not exempted from tariffs. Products originating from China have a tariff rate of 10 - 30% and upwards depending on the exact product specifics. Couriers may also charge a portion of add-on fees, known as disbursement fees, for costs associated with providing the service to clear customs for the items. These vary from courier to courier. While we cannot guarantee that implementation on the ground exactly follows the guidelines from the U.S. customs and border protection instructions, our recent experiences with shipments seem to generally align with these official guidelines.

Update 29 December 2025, we have seen some cases where CBP agents are charging tariffs for Vinyl Records and reserve their right to decide if the item should be tariffed on the ground. No issues occur with other items listed above. We would recommend opting for DDP where possible with vinyl records to make sure that there are no surprise charges when receiving the item.

Over the last few months, we have been working closely with our current and new shipping providers to provide additional and easier options for our customers to receive items to the US given the tariff and de minimis removal situations. As a result, we are happy to announce that we are now able to offer a more economical shipping option (Registered Airmail with Tracking) for customers looking for savings on the shipping cost. For this shipping option, we will also ship items via Delivered Duties Paid (DDP), which means no additional charges will be levied upon receipt of the item, making the processes simpler for customers receiving their order. Currently, this is still a manual process where our team will reach out to you to collect the duties in advance, where applicable, after the order is placed (separate from order total) in order to ensure that the duties charged are accurate and minimal, while remaining in line with the official guidelines. This process is necessary due to the complexity with the range of items we carry in our store. Items will only be shipped out after the pre-paid taxes are collected. In the meantime, we will continue to work to find more convenient ways for our customers for the future.

By default, we will ship packages Delivered Duties Paid (DDP) for FedEx. This means that where taxes are applicable, our team will reach out to you before the item is ready to be shipped out to collect the taxes upfront. As mentioned above, the benefits of DDP shipments are that there will be no additional charges levied upon receiving the item. You can still opt for Delivered Dutires Unpaid (DDU) options, where you will be charged the taxes directly after delivery of the item. Some couriers also collect the taxes at the point of delivery before releasing the parcel. To opt for this option, simply let us know via email or key in your FedEx account number in the order notes when placing the order. All DDU shipments are required to provide a recipient FedEx account number due to the latest regulations from FedEx as of September 2025. Delays may occur if this information is missing from the order. It is free and simple to create a personal FedEx account.

Update 29 December 2025: Please note that as of 2026, FedEx has increased the disbursement fees they charge for items where tariffs are applicable.

Shipping via DHL will also be shipped via DDU as a default, with an option for DDP at an additional upfront cost if you reach out to us before the item is shipped out.

Please note that in any cases, if customs duties are are required for DDU shipments and refused; and the item is returned to us, we will only be able to refund the order amount minus shipping, return and reimport fees. If you wish to reship the item(s), additional charges may be incurred.

We would like to thank you for your continued interest and support of The Jelly House and appreciate your kind understanding! We will continue to update you if/when more information becomes available.
